What:
Religious Education also known as CCD or Catechism classes are for children and youth between preschool/K to12th grade who do not receive Catholic Christian Education in our parochial school (Seton Catholic School) and instead, attend public schools or are homeschooled. The curriculum standards and catechism lessons are set forth by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and are in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Religious Education is required in order to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation so our children and youth are able to reach Christian maturity and worship our Lord in Spirit and Truth. When:
Sundays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m
Where:
Seton Catholic High School,
233 South 5th Street, Richmond, IN
Hello, parish family! My name is Vicky Roosa, and I am humbled and excited to be your new Director of Religious Education. I bring an eagerness to serve the Lord with an open, joyful, and truthful heart to this ministry position. I can do nothing without His Spirit, who leads me and welcome His guidance on this journey. As a mother of three, Nana to nine, Great Nana to one, and, as many of you know, recently widowed. I learned long ago my life was not really my own. I have faithfully served God, through the years, as a catechist, youth minister, parish retreat leader, Eucharistic minister, parish council member, Bible study facilitator, and chairperson for several parish ministries in Dioceses of Springfield IL, Arlington, VA,
Wheeling, WV, and Spokane, WA. In the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, I have been a catechist for many years, served on Parish Council, past President of Catholic Women United, and just completed my three-year term on Seton School Commission. What a blessing to serve in my home parish, where my faith story began.
James 5:8. "Be sober and vigilant." Your opponent, the devil, prowls around like a roaring Lion looking for someone to devour. Let not our youth be devoured, but by the Grace of God, and our diligence to teach the faith, be led to their place at His Eucharistic table. May God Bless our efforts and send many!
